Knowing me, knowing you

Knowing me, knowing you. – We aren’t referring to the Abba song here! (Though it is a great tune) but referring to that of self-awareness and awareness of others.

Being in tune (excuse the pun) with yourself and with others, really does aid in effective communication, understanding and positive results. If you are aware of how you come across and how others prefer to receive information, you can adapt your style to be in line with the recipient and therefore likely to be more effective.

Insights Discovery

Insights Discovery helps people understand themselves and their colleagues so that they can have more respectful, productive and positive working relationships, even across virtual boundaries.

It uses a simple psychometric tool based on the psychology of Carl Jung, using a memorable four colour model to help people understand their style, their strengths and the value they bring to the team. We call these the colour energies, and it is the unique mix of Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue energies, which determines how and why people behave the way they do.  Remember we are all four colour energies

Knowing others colour energy preferences, means you can adapt accordingly. For example, if you are presenting to a lead ‘Cool Blue’ preference they like to have all the facts before making the decision, so be sure to present all the information in a logical flow. If presenting to a lead ‘Fiery Red’ preference they like to get to the point quickly, so don’t waffle, be direct and lead with the executive summary so they know what the facts are and what is expected of them.

Being Self-aware

Knowing your own colour energy mix will really aid in your overall effectiveness, career progression and leadership skills. According to Forbes, “90% of top performers are considered to be highly self-aware”. When individuals can take an honest look at their personal style, they can start to ask themselves pertinent questions, such as ‘What kind of leader am I?’, ‘How can I be better?’ or ‘Why do I react so strongly to change?’ and ‘Why do I never see eye to eye with X colleague?’ Knowing the answers and the reasoning why, allows an individual to make changes to how they operate and ultimately become more effective – the height of emotional intelligence

Insights Discovery is even more effective if the entire organisation or team is aware of their colour energy preferences. This ensures everyone speaks the same language, can relate better and collaborate and engage more successfully.
